Blindness by Sight Only (1-2).

*EDITED: 11-24-2020

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
– Psalm 14:1

Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
– Psalm 28:5

22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
– Romans 1:22-24

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
– 1 Corinthians 2:14

The Atheist and the Agnostic are one of the most rational people on earth, for they are careful to believe anything without scrutiny, and tended to refuse the sensational without testing.

But in their prideful wisdom have also rejected anything that they cannot see with their eyes.

Atheism and Agnosticism becoming an organized group was borne of the Enlightenment Period*, the rejection of religion and religious superstition without the fear of persecution. At the time, the Roman Catholic church not only taught the existence of God, but allowed silly and detrimental superstitious beliefs to flourish unchallenged. In the mind of the former they cannot prove God, and superstition is the natural fruit of religion.

The cause of their unbelief also lies at the feet of the Catholic church for they persecute pioneering scientists such as Copernicus and Galileo Galilei, who have by their discovery, refuted the Geocentric theory of the universe; an Aristotelian belief the church embraced. The same fault also lies with the Protestants as they’ve also held to Aristotle’s view.

Lastly, Catholics and Protestants persecuted each other and waged a brutal war against one another that have lasted for 30 years. The 30 Years War began in 1618 and ended in 1648. The Protestants persecuted the Catholics but also against each other, causing groups such as the Anabaptists and the Puritans to flee. And both sides mistreated the Jews.

Today, they see in the news a Pastor’s hypocrisy, a Christian’s incongruity, and the church laxity, everywhere. If the truth of God’s existence were to be determined by that, then they have every right not to believe.

A Protestant Christian whose mission is to defend the Gospel, the fundamentals of the Faith, and to reach the lost for their salvation. The Icon that I'm using conveys multiple purposes of a Christian believer. The sword represents our mission to evangelize; not through force of arms, but through the truth of the word of God (Psalm 19:7-9). The shield represents our obligation to defend the truths of the scriptures and the confessions of the faith (1 Peter 3:15). Lastly, the wings represents the grace, love, gentleness, and care we must show and give to each other as brothers and sisters in the Lord, and everyone else around us - to the righteous and to the unrighteous - as God has loved us (Ephesians 2:2-3 & 1 John 4:19).
